Iran’s first container ship heads to Europe

An Iranian container ship is heading to Europe for the first time in five years, marking Tehran’s return to international markets after the lifting of sanctions, an official says.

Pakistan is firm on receiving gas from Iran through a pipeline, a senior official says, dismissing reports that Islamabad might have ditched the project.

Iran, Azerbaijan moving towards strategic ties

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says Iran and Azerbaijan are taking steps to bolster strategic relations in all fields.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the expansion and reinforcement of cooperation with the Azerbaijan Republic in all sectors,” Rouhani said in a telephone conversation with Azeri President Ilham Aliyev on Saturday.

‘Iran seeks strategic unity among Muslims’

Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani says fostering strategic unity among Muslim nations has always been the Islamic Republic’s top strategy.

Iran confirms order for 50 Embraer planes


Iran on Tuesday confirmed that it has ordered 50 planes from Brazil’s Embraer, the world’s third biggest commercial aircraft manufacturer.

According to Press TV, the confirmation was made by Mohammad Bagher Nowbakht, the country’s Government Spokesman who emphasized that the deal with Embraer will be a hire purchase contract.

Russia ‘hopes’ to sign satellite launch deal with Iran

Russia hoped to be able to strike a contract with Iran soon in a bid to launch an Iranian-made remote Earth sensing satellite on its carrier rocket by the end of 2018.

“We hope to sign the satellite launch contract by the middle of April. If the contract is signed, the launch may take place at the end of 2018,” Leonid Macridenko, the Head of Russia’s Space Monitoring Systems, Information and Control and Electromechanical Complexes (VNIIEM), said on Wednesday, the Tass news agency reported.
